How does it work?

Swedish Massage involves rubbing the muscles in your limbs, back, neck and shoulders with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart – known as effleurage – as well using other techniques such as petrissage (kneading with palms, thumbs and fingers), friction (circular pressures in focused areas), hacking (light slapping) and vibration (circular movement to shake the body). These movements stretch the muscles, and improve blood flow around the body, helping it to release toxins and promote muscle recovery. A full bodywork session at Spa24  usually takes up to one hour, which includes an initial brief chat with one of our therapists, who will discuss with you, any problem areas you may have.
